Leaders Summit

The Clean Environment Leaders Summit (CELS) is one of the three pillar events of the CleanEnviro Summit Singapore. The Summit gathers the world's top environment leaders from the public and private sectors, international organisations and think-tanks, to discuss global environment issues, share knowledge, and shape thought leadership and policies on developing sustainable environmental management solutions. At the CELS 2012, expect more than 300 leaders to come together for a meaningful discourse on environmental issues.

The CELS 2012 will take place on 2 July. It comprises the following key events:

  1. An "In Conversation" with Ms Helen Clark, Administrator of UN Development Programme and former Prime Minister of New Zealand, where she will have an interactive dialogue on issues concerning cities, environment and sustainable development with the audience.
  2. A Joint Opening Plenary on "Sustainable Development - Our Cities, Water and the Environment", which will feature high level speakers from the government, industry and international organisation to share thoughts and insights on strategic cross-cutting policy and governance issues related to water, city and the environment.
  3. Two Clean Environment Leaders Plenary Sessions on the topics of "Governance & Leadership: Towards Resource Efficient Cities of the Future" and "Enabling Technological Solutions for Sustainable Waste and Resource Management", organised in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP.

Note: Sessions (a) & (b) are jointly organised with the World Cities Summit and Singapore International Water Week.
